Learning Disability Services

A learning disability is a condition that affects learning and intellect across all areas of life; and a learning difficulty is a condition that creates an obstacle to a specific form of learning.  There are approximately 1.5 million people in the UK that experience a learning disability. The William Syndrome Foundation is a charity organisation promoting research and providing help to diagnosed children and supporting families.

The Fragile X Society supports people whose lives are affected by Fragile X and the associated conditions. 

The Estia Centre is a specialist training, research and development resource centre in South London for those who support adults with learning disabilities, austism and mental health. You can call 0800 731 2864 (Opt 1) 27 hours a day to speak to their mental health crisis line.
 
Mind are an organisation who recognise the difficulty people have accessing help for their mental health. They offer multiple help lines to discuss the different forms of support you may need, whether it be regarding a legal matter or needing someone to talk to. 
 
The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities gives guidance to support those living with a learning disability and to enact change within organisations to improve quality of care.
 
The Judith Trust is an organisation that supports projects, campaigns and has lots of information on learning disabilities to those who want to learn different aspects of life with mental health needs and learning disabilities such as social, psychological and physical issues and more.
 
Turning Point offer individual support to those with a learning difficulty, mental health concern or drug and alcohol issues.
 
United Response are a chairty who support those with autism, mental health and learning disabilities at home and the community
 
Bild is an organisation that was created to provide better community support for people with disabilities.
 
The Association for Real Change is a charity to support the providers of services relating to learning disabilities and autism by offering courses, qualifications and networking opportunities
