Sussex Health & Care - Latest News

Sussex Health and Care Integrated Care System (ICS) is made up of health and care organisations across Sussex.

ICSs are a way of working that brings together all the health and care organisations in a particular local area, to work together more closely. There are 42 ICSs across England which have been more formally established since 1 July 2022. Many health and care organisations have already been working in this integrated way successfully, particularly through the pandemic, and this is the next step in recognising this success. Each ICS is responsible for looking after and delivering all the health and care services in the area it covers. Each one is made up of an integrated care board and an integrated care partnership, working together.

You can contact the Integrated Care Board (Sussex Health and Care) using the following information

  • Post: NHS Sussex, Wicker House, High Street, Worthing BN11 1DJ

BMA (British Medical Association)

The British Medical Association (BMA) is the trade union and professional body for doctors in the UK. The BMA represents, supports and negotiates on behalf of all UK doctors and medical students. They are member-run and led, fighting for the best terms and conditions as well as lobbying and campaigning on the issues impacting the medical profession.

The BMA are currently running a campaign in support of GP surgeries across the UK and they are trying to support the NHS to receive more funding so we and GP surgeries across the UK can train and hire more GPs, deliver the services you require and make it easier for you and your loved ones to get appointments to see your GP and practice team. How can you support your family doctor?

Talk to any election candidate who you come across

When candidates from the political parties come knocking on your door, ask them what they will do to save general practice. What will they do so you can see a GP in a modern local surgery?

Join the patient participation group at your local practice

Your local practice should have a patient participation group (PPG), which you could join to support the practice and influence the way they deliver local services.
Ask your surgery receptionist for further information about the existing group or details on how you might start one up.
